Sunday Sounds: Pandora, Randy Rogers was spying on me, a good Rascal Flatts album review

{iTunes} The Painter” by Neil Young

Here’s issue 3 of Sunday Sounds… my awesomeness overwhelms you, I know.

  • Pandora – I got bored with iTunes radio this week so I decided to go back to Pandora for a bit. I forgot how much fun it is… they play all the music I like, introduce me to new artists and they only play a handful of songs I don’t like. Right now I have 3 different playlists set up. My Robert Johnson station plays all my favorite blues artists (SRV, Clapton, Muddy Waters, Albert King, etc) and some new ones, my Merle Haggard station plays all my favorite classic Country (Cash, Hank, Charley Pride, Buck Owens, etc) and my Miranda Lambert station plays my favorite current country/southern rock/texas music (Robert Earl Keen, Randy Rogers Band, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jack Ingram, etc). If you’ve still yet to try it out, get on it.
  • Randy Rogers was spying on me – While listening to Pandora I heard a song from an older Randy Rogers Band album called “Somebody Take Me Home” and I liked it. I realized that the reason I like it is that the verse chord structure is exactly like the 1st half of the riff of a little instrumental diddy I wrote 2-3 years back tentatively titled “Kelly Clarkson is Beautiful”… speaking of, I should pick that song back up and put some lyrics to it so it doesn’t have to have such an embarrassing title.
  • The 9513 reviews “Still Feels Good” – They gave it 1 out of 5 stars which I’d probably agree with but their explanation of why is so much better. It pretty much sums up them and a chunk of other artists. Read it here.
  • A Cream Reunion – This weekend PBS aired a Cream Reunion Concert as part of their Great Performances Series. The only one that doesn’t look like hell is Clapton but for a 3 piece band they’re still pretty amazing.
