For those of you who didn’t see my facebook status yesterday, I was laid off from my day job. The economy has hit the company I was working for pretty hard this past quarter and the outlook for 2009 wasn’t any better. So… since I was the last one hired I was the first one fired.

In a kind of funny/random spin on the story, it was almost 4 years to the day (Dec 7th, 2004) I was let go from the job I worked at through college (for economic reasons as well).

When I was laid off that time I was blessed enough to get a 1 month severance package, this time I am not so lucky… I only got 1 week.

For those of you who have not been laid off right between Christmas and Thanksgiving before you may not know that companies generally aren’t hiring right now. Last time it took me till the end of February to find a new job.

No matter. I’m glad that I can be confident that God will provide.
